It occurs frequently that friends told me about the song suggesting it sounds typically me, like the type of music I would listen to and get wild on. I particularly cherish those types of song that put my mood to the next level and give me this wild desire to sing, run, jump. The types of song with a summer taste to refresh and enlighten the darkest winter days. Here is my wild, happy, indie rock’n’roll songs that taste like teenage angst.
Good Shoes – We Are Not The Same
Ouch… Such a disappointment Good Shoes stopped releasing albums. This song sounds to me like their very best and his feature in the soundtrack of one of the most incredible movie ever’Unmade Beds’, a wild at heart, punk and emotional version of ‘L’auberge Espagnole’. This wild dancing scene on We Are Not The Same can simply not leave my mind.
Black Lips – Bad Kids
Another soundtrack song. Part of the great, unforgettable yet ‘500 days of summer’ in which the lovely Zooey Deschanel stars. Bad Kids is a perfect tune for early spring days and for first emotions. The kind of song that makes you feel like a teenager however how old you are.
The Strokes – Someday
The time Julian Casablanca was wild and self confident. Someday was then a beautiful awakening song the crowd was dancing on. It hurts to say but I want you to stay…
Blur – Country House
A 90’s genius classic. It was the era of Blur/Oasis conflict, they were on all radio stations and hell Damon Albarn was the ultimate pop star. A time pop music had a soul.
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros – Home
Perfect summer tune. On top of my playlist when I finally take the road to hit home.
The Babies – Meet me in the City
When Vivian Girls meet Kevin Morby for an outstanding side project, The Babies. This song is the sunshine of the first release of The Babies, a typical New York City song to explore the city while dancing.
Arctic Monkeys – A Certain Romance
When Arctic Monkeys were good, before they fall for rockabily. They were teenagers and wild and perfectly describe the bitterness of teens first loves.
KAKKMADDAFAKA – Restless
Kakkmaddafaka is the one of the coolest band I saw on stage. Each song has this ironic touch that makes this band, unique and entertaining at each instant.
Allo Darlin’ – Henri Rollins don’t dance
An ironic celebration of musical comedy such as Grease. Henri Rollins don’t dance definitely is a musical tale that will settle you in the right party mood. To listen to over and over again.
Los Campesinos! – Broken heart Beats Sounds Like Break Beats
However I am not the greatest fan of Los Campesinos on the average this song has something wild, definitely pleasant for each funny, party time of life.
Girls – Magic
Girls is the ultimate happy sunny californian band. Love child of Christopher Owens, each song is filled with this Californian loving spirit, the one that put a stupid smile on your face.
Cheers – and do not forget to dance,
