The summer day we were looking forward to finally happened and Amsterdam Fashion Week summer catwalk show finally started yesterday with the outstanding collection of Aziz Bekkaoui for Spring-Summer 2016.
Aziz Bekkaoui: opera, coolness and effortless chic
Aziz Bekkaoui‘s creatures appeared in a declination of sober colors and street inspired outfits. Sometimes preppy, sometimes urban. While opera intertwines with Amy Winehouse and electro beats, male and female women alternatively haunts the catwalk in subtle and sober declinations of colors printed on black and white enhanced with colorful details. Whatever Aziz Bekkaoui does on the catwalk, the Dutch designer constantly shines with his urban but always elegant creatures who transgress gender codes and street wears rules. Definitely one of the best show of this SS16 edition of Amsterdam Fashion Week.
Monique Collignon: eerie couture on techno beats
Monique Collignon played the game of contrasts with ethnic and eerie creatures, alternating exotic hairstyling to mystic ones. Dresses are fluid, colors primal and enhanced with embroideries, sequins, superpositions. While designs were exquisite, soundtrack was not the best beat. Techno beats and coutures comes as a contrast not surprising enough, something we could have predict. However Monique Collignon exotic creatures surprised us with the outstanding and eerie looks.
